Budapest Retro Museum Invites You on an Unforgettable Time Travel
If you or your parents lived in Eastern Europe in the seventies or eighties, you must have some stories or memories of life behind the Iron Curtain. Now you can find yourself in those years, taking part in a magical interactive journey through time at the Budapest Retro Museum.
Try out what it's like to patrol the Gazdagréti housing estate in a Lada police car during the time of the TV series "Szomszédok" (Neighbours), see what Bertalan Farkas took with him into space, listen to period jokes or cabaret in the telephone booths, make a retro souvenir card with your own photo or try your hand at being an announcer in the contemporary Híradó (News) studio. And these are just a few of the many experiences you can enjoy in the 3-storey building with its many special objects. Look in every corner, there are thousands of interesting things waiting for you!
And if you get hungry on your journey through time, the Experience Centre's cosy bistro serves a variety of retro food and drinks. And as the song goes, they also sell Bambi.
