On 18 May, on the occasion of World Museum Day, all of the Budapest History Museum member institutions can be visited for free!
According to the museum's socials on Sunday you can visit the Kiscelli Museum, the Budapest Gallery, the Aquincum Museum and the Budapest History Museum for free.
From 16 to 18 May, Vajdahunyad Castle will once again host the biggest ecotourism event of the year: the Hungarian National Parks Week begins! The aim of the series of events is to bring visitors – especially students – closer to the diverse activities of national parks and the importance of active nature conservation. During the weekend, all ten Hungarian national parks will be welcoming visitors with exciting, interactive stands.
The weekend after that, on the 24-25th of May, the Hungarian National Museum is hosting a two-day event titled Múzeumok Majálisa, where you can catch nearly 100 museums and exhibitors. On the 28th Museums Majálisa awaits visitors with free programs and a festival atmosphere. The theme of the programmes will be "changing perspectives" and "changing attitudes" to show that the museum is an open, friendly, accessible and inclusive space for everyone, where everyone can feel at home.
The museum building offers exciting family and adult programs, as well as barrier-free experiences, from morning to evening, and the Museum of the Year award will be presented.
On the 25, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM at the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center is hosting an open day on the occasion of Childrens's day. Organizers note that for fire safety reasons, a total of 300 people can stay in the Money Museum, and 130 people can stay on the Money Museum Panorama Terrace.
