Tiger Cubs were born at the Budapest Zoo
On 13 April, just over two weeks ago, Agnes, Budapest Zoo's Siberian tiger gave birth to two healthy cubs. The mother and cubs still need complete rest, of course, so for the time being they can only be seen by zoo staff who have specific responsibility for the big cats. But everyone else will have to wait a little longer.
The public can expect to see the little ones in a few weeks. The exact date is not yet known, but the zoo promises to let us know in good time when they will be available for visitors to admire. For now, they have shared a video of the little ones on Facebook, which is absolutely the cutest thing you can see on the internet today.
The birth of the tigers is also a great joy because the last time this happened was in August 2013, almost 12 years ago. The cubs born then, Grusha and Macan, have since grown up and moved to another zoo.
Although the tigers are not yet on display to the general public, the zoo will continue to report regularly about them, providing more interesting facts not only about the newcomers, but also about tigers in general, their conservation status in the wild, their habits and of course the rich history of tiger conservation in Budapest. So it will be worth following the news from the zoo.
