Metallica to Perform Twice in Budapest Next June

Metallica will return to Budapest after eight years. The world-famous American metal band will continue its M72 world tour next year, as part of which they will perform at the Puskás Arena on June 11 and 13, 2026.

Metallica will arrive in Europe and the United Kingdom with sixteen concerts. Like many other cities, they will hold a No Repeat Weekend performance in Budapest, meaning they will play music with different setlists and different support bands on two nights - the organizer Live Nation told MTI on Thursday.

Metallica will be guests at the Puskás Arena on June 11 with Pantera and Avatar, and on the 13 with Gojira and Knocked Loose.

The Los Angeles band, formed in 1981, has released eleven studio albums so far, the latest, 72 Seasons, was released in 2023. Metallica's albums have sold more than 125 million copies worldwide.

The ten-time Grammy Award-winning Metallica's first album, Kill 'Em All, was released in 1983. From the lineup at that time, James Hetfield (vocals, rhythm guitar), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) and Lars Ulrich (drums) still play in Metallica today, and Robert Trujillo has been the bassist since 2003.

The band's most successful songs include One, Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, Until It Sleeps, The Memory Remains and The Day That Never Comes.
The band has performed in Hungary six times so far, most recently in April 2018 at the Sportarena.

Metallica will donate a portion of the price of each ticket sold on this tour to local charities through the All Within My Hands foundation.

Founded in 2017 with the goal of giving back to the communities that have supported Metallica over the years, All Within My Hands has raised over $20 million since its inception: $11.4 million in grants for career and technical education programs (including the Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its seventh year), over $7.4 million to combat food insecurity, and over $4.7 million for disaster relief.
