The 45-minute museum tours will start from the Visitor Center of the Parliament every Saturday, from 10 AM. Guests can view our continuously renewed exhibition entitled A Thousand Years of Hungarian Legislature.
Participation is subject to registration: you can register by 10 AM the day before the guided tour at nemzetfotere@parlament.hu. A maximum of 30 people can participate in one tour by showing the confirmation email.
The exhibition titled A Thousand Years of Hungarian Legislature presents the roots, formation and development of Hungarian parliamentarism in chronological order, divided into eight chapters, from the Middle Ages to the change of regime. Visitors can learn interactively about the essence of the Golden Bull or the April Laws, among other things, and gain a broader picture of the period of pathfinding and new beginnings between 1918 and 1990.
The Museum of the Hungarian Parliament was established in 2014 with the aim of collecting, preserving and exhibiting the mementoes of Hungarian parliamentarism. In the course of its activities, the museum seeks to carry on in the footsteps of its predecessor institution, dissolved in 1949, drawing on its forward-looking ideas, popular initiatives and achievements, while also meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
