This May, the beautiful surroundings of the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden will once again be filled with the smell of chimney cakes: the 5th Chimney Cake Marrymaking (Kürtőskalács Vigalom), the spring "little brother" of the popular Chimney Cake Festival, is coming! The three-day event, which will take place from 16-18 May at Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden, in the area next to the Biodome, will once again feature traditional chimney cake baked on charcoal coals. The event is significant for two reasons: Édes Mackó chimney cake confectionery is 7 years old and the Zoo's Vitéz Kürtős Kuckó is 16 years old - and to celebrate, a real chimney cake cavalcade will be served to guests.

Chimney cake in all shapes and sizes

At the 5th Chimney Cake Marrymaking, one of the great favourites, the new shaped chimney cake, the KÜRTŐSBON, will not be missing, and will be available in different variations. Of course, lovers of traditional flavours will not be disappointed either, as in addition to the classic versions, visitors will also be able to enjoy Édes Mackó Confectionery's specialities of sweet cake desserts, and even gluten, dairy and egg-free cakes for those with food intolerances.

Zoo experiences and colourful programmes

In addition to the chimney cakes, the organisers are also preparing an atmospheric zoo walk, family and children's programmes, craft activities, a giant mill game, quizzes, a photo gallery and concerts. The event is not only a gastronomic experience, but also a weekend-long family programme.

The event is open to the public with a zoo pass, so you can get to know the animals as well as the delicacies.
