Blooming Beauties: Sakura Festival is Coming Up in ELTE Füvészkert

The annual Sakura Festival has been a tradition at the ELTE Botanical Garden for many years, always linked to the blossoming of the Japanese cherry tree, the traditional Japanese holiday of Ohanami. On this occasion, when the Japanese cherry trees are in bloom in the Botanic Garden, visitors can picnic on a blanket in the garden and enjoy the blossoming of the Sakura trees, as is the Japanese custom.

Japanese culture was presented in many special and interesting ways during the programmes. In 2025 the programmes will include Japanese language lessons, Japanese music, Japanese martial arts and weapons demonstrations, Go instruction, concerts, a haiku competition, an ikebana exhibition and workshops.

The detailed programme will be available on their website.

Opening hours: 9h -18h.

Last entry with SAKURA season ticket/online ticket: 17.30.
