Munkácsy - The Master of the Canvas

The monumental exhibition came alive to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the birth of Mihály Munkácsy. Hundreds of paintings are gathered in the Museum of Fine Arts to visitors to get a glimpse of this unique man's life and career. The exhibition intends to present new perspectives and interpretation of his work of art. Private collections are borrowed to interpret the effects of cultural and social influences that formed Munkácsy's art and career. Cult objects, documents and archival photographs can be also seen in connection with his outstanding way of life.
